What The Evidence Says
The Natural Language Acquisition framework recognizes that many autistic communicators build language in whole gestalts: complete phrases whose exact wording and intonation carry the meaning. Studio Script plays recordings untouched and splits them only when the person is ready.

No head-to-head trials of any commercial AAC system exist. Not ours, not anyone's. The only organization comparison on record found icon-sequence encoding lost to everything while grids and visual scenes tied. We refuse to claim our layout learns better, because that claim has no evidence behind it, from anyone.

Consistent symbol location is the single best-replicated learnability finding in AAC research. Motor plans build around position, and moving a word costs the user the practice they paid for. Every GVOS board obeys this as law.

The Fitzgerald Key, in its Goossens and Crain modification, has organized AAC vocabulary by grammatical role and color for decades. GVOS uses it on every board, so a returning user is home on day one.

Roughly one in three AAC devices ends up abandoned, and the drivers are support factors: training, caregiver enablement, upkeep, and vocabulary relevance. The kit ships with the family guide, coached phrase authoring, and a companion that teaches, because the device that stays in use is the one the whole household knows how to live with.
